{"id":509,"date":"2021-07-14T15:02:51","date_gmt":"2021-07-14T15:02:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scale.wp.worc.ac.uk\/?page_id=509"},"modified":"2021-08-13T09:47:12","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T09:47:12","slug":"key-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/scale.wp.worc.ac.uk\/?page_id=509","title":{"rendered":"Key Information"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Information: ADHD\/ADD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Common issues with ADHD\/ADD may include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Inattention \u2013 disrupted by their own thoughts or&nbsp;<em>daydreaming<\/em>, moving quickly onto a new topic of conversation before finishing the current one and producing work that is of variable quality.<\/li><li>Impulsiveness \u2013 a failure of executive functioning, an impairment of internal speech, finishing other people\u2019s sentences and\/or interrupting.<\/li><li>Intrusive thoughts and ideas reducing focus and concentration<\/li><li>Hyper focus on certain tasks or activities in short bursts<\/li><li>Short-term memory \u2013 poor note-taking ability, poor hindsight and forethought leading to an inability to learn from mistakes or draw on previous experience. Difficulty in following instructions \u2013 a student may have forgotten the first point in a list of instructions by the time the final point is covered.<\/li><li>Independent adaptive functioning.<\/li><li>Slow handwriting and typing skills<\/li><li>Mood swings \u2013 ranging from restlessness and fidgety behaviour to procrastinating (affecting coursework and revision for examinations).<\/li><li>Difficulty maintaining focus and discipline.
